The office of IBN7 and IBN Lokmat, the Hindi and Marathi news channels of the IBN Network, were attacked in Mumbai by a group of men claiming to be Shiv Sena activists. Journalists were beaten up and their clothes torn by the group. The group damaged property at the office in Mumbai’s Vikrholi area.
Sandeep Chavan, a journalist with IBN Lokmat, said the attackers told employees they were looking for Nikhil Wagle, editor-in-chief of IBN Lokmat, and wanted to “teach him a lesson”.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has assured that the offenders will be severely dealt with.

By ROHIT BHANUSHALI | Nov 21, 2009 | 12:37 PM | Login to flag commentWith reference to this event I would like to comment as the act which Shiv Shena has done is not an offence able act. As if any Party President is been abused continuously on an National Channel its Party people have an right to react on it as this Act is Reaction to an Action .And Mr Nikhil Waghale who has created a huge scene in front of the viewers that how great he and his Staff is ,but has he ever thought ever that what is the reason behind this whole Attack .The reason is his Blunt Speak which has been defaming every Politician in Maharastra and the Only Shiv Sena stood up and gave the him back .I understand that we live in democratic country where every one has right to express his feeling ,but i would like to remind the all reporters and all the people the words of late Lokmanya Tilak that "Swatantra Manjay Swarachar Nahi" So a Dignity should be maintained . And For our Home Minister Mr R.R Patil who really stood up and spoke about the whole event and gave his condolences I would like to remind that he is the same person who commented "Itna bade sehar mein ek ka da hadsaa hot jata hai" on the most traumatic and most unforgettable event like 26/11.Its not been a year for the event . And here he is back again As Home Minister .A person who doesn’t know the criticality and effects and only comments which favours his party .The event like 26/11 he commented casually as he and his party had no answer to it and so he was fired and today he comments on an event like attack on Media office were so exaggerating only because this event would be and potential point to defame the opposite party. I would just like to remind the people on Maharastra please stand up against all this or this people would make our life miserable and we would be only reason to make our like miserable.
By Harish | Nov 20, 2009 | 11:09 PM | Login to flag commentIts such a SHAME!!!! People in Mumbai city are no longer humans.I guess the Shiv Sena Activists are just trying to throw power where its not needed.Being an activists does not mean you act weirdly and that's exactly what the Shiv Sena people are doing.I strongly feel that they are not going to gain anything but just HATRED.

By Sagar agrawal | Nov 20, 2009 | 04:08 PM | Login to flag commentStrange are its ways :) I think the city no longer deserves to be a city. The voices that didn't even spare Sachin Tendulkar and claimed to have been fighting for Marathi Manoon, landed in a confusion I assume while they were damaging the property that catered news to Marathi's in Marathi.
