Malaria Caused by Migrants - Raj Thackeray
For those who think that the malaria in Mumbai is caused by parasites borne by mosquitoes, here's some news for you - they are actually caused by migrants! Well, at least that's what Raj Thackeray has to say about the deadly outbreak.
"Dengue and malaria are spreading fast in the city due to dirty illegal slums which are occupied by migrants only," he said during a programme to mark the fourth anniversary of the MNS students' wing.
Claiming that all the hospitals in the city are occupied by 'outsiders', Marathi people, according to Thackeray, have no go. "The outsiders are coming in huge number to Mumbai and staying in slums. The Municipal Corporation and Maharashtra Government are busy shifting the responsibility on each other," he said.
While the debate on the real cause of malaria is still on, what we can perhaps do is take the requisite precautions to avoid getting infected by the parasite. We will soon be posting an article detailing the precautions to be taken. Do stay tuned.
