“ I Kill’ , that’s the name of the last entry police found in Viveka Babajee’s diary seized by the police as a suicide note .Death in a poetry!! 37 year old, Ex Miss Mauritius and introduced in the sizzling Kamasutra ad, Viveka killed herself on the evening of 25th June by hanging herself from the ceiling, alledgedly over a failed relationship.
Meanwhile, Tv channels doing a virtual post
mortem her life are having a field day dissecting the montage of ‘nearing death’ her lifre seemed
to indicate in the fag end. Another fashion victim bites the dust, are some of the screaming
headlines and its painfully ironic that Viveka prone to depression in the last few months, was
often heard talking about how one came from dust and would eventually fall into dust….
Its again tragic, that its often after death that we realize how many lives we touch. Id heard of
this model, being a regular follower of the Page 3 circuit.Probably would have shaken my head
for a minute in silent condolence had I heard this story on the evening breaking news. But in
a cruel twist if fate, I heard about this otherwise.Catching up with a close school buddy also a
budding designer, we were celebrating one of her recent assignments 3 days prior of designing
a dress worn by none other than Viveka Babajee. She was just showing the shoot snaps to us,
sharing how Viveka was so down to earth and helpful when another friend called and broke the
news of her suicide.I didn’t know her very well, and my usually cynical friend had interacted with
her just for 2 days but was full of praises for her sweet nature.Watching her unable to digest the
pice of news, I could only imagine what the near and dear ones must feel
So its really sad that some one so good natured, tool her own life over some guy who clearly
wasn’t worth it. Now people from near and far will make her life a morbid circus parade, digging
at all kinds of skeletons, clawing at the whys and hows of a truth she probably took to the dust
with her, as she said. But we wish she RIP, for someone who could make an impression in a
few hours, she was worth a lot more!

Its really sad to hear another fashion celebrity choosing death over life. Ending ones life is definitely an extreme decision to take and most often then not, is taken when there is nothing more life has to offer you. Who else would know this better than me , all credit to my emotional experiments carried out in the past 15 years to be precise, which resulted in me knocking the doors of depression at periodic/frequent intervals. What surprises me is that these celebrities who seem to have everything going for them - fame, money et al, find it difficult to find true love. This unfortunate episode only endorses what Khalil Gibran rightly said "Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit". My heart goes out to Viveka's tormented soul, whose life is being retro-analysed by our insensitive & inconsiderate news reporters. Forgive them, Viveka! They know not what the do.
