India crowned 'beauty with a purpose'

India's representative Pooja Chopra was crowned 'Beauty with a Purpose' at the Miss world 2009, Johannesburg.

While she made it to the semi-finals, she missed the top seven spot. Interestingly, ex-Miss World, Priyanka Chopra was invited to

judge the event.

Pooja Chopra was highly appreciated for her efforts to educate the girl child in India.

Not many people know that Pooja had injured her ankle one day before the main event.

While she was advised to rest, she chose to walk the ramp in a cast.

Gibraltar's Kaiane Aldorino was crowned Miss World 2009.
