Abu Azmi hit by MNS leader for taking oath in Hindi

The fun begins. Street fight enters state legislature. The sequel to the original is now set in a respectable democratic institution. The protagonists in the original, Raj Thackeray and his band of boys better known as Manse (because they act from the heart) come face to face with Triple A (the crorepati leader of poor migrants) , this time in the assembly of a progressive state on day one of a ‘to be continued’ action drama. Raj off course was present in proxy much like his uncle, superstar of yesteryears. The blockbuster original Bade Bhaiyya is renamed Big Bhau in season 2.

The Manse boys now have the stamp of officialdom to their action with 13 MLAs elected by the people. Ideally I would expect the party to mature in its style now that it is more than a startup trying to gain ground. But sadly street culture in now state culture. Not that the legislature is any more sacred than the street any more. But for what it’s worth some of us Maharashtrians still respect its sanctity, as part of our respectable political culture. But this show is for the masses not the classes. And the masses will love it.

With the way Big Bhau season 2 has begun I am sure it will continue to top the charts. (guaranteed viewership for news channels)

My birthplace is mumbai and i belong to mumbai as much as maharastrians.. Bigesst thing is Mumbai is metrocity, so no1 can b thrown out of it.... 2day Mumbai is at top is made by efforts of all language ppls not only by marathi speaking people.... so it is the contribution of all.... All polititian are tryin to get access with different issues... now Public shld understand and bring sum leader who can do good for mumbai widout inequality nd castism.... we all are Indians... All citizens of Mumbai have same rights Wther he/she is Maharastrian, Gujrati,Punjabi,Musslim,Christian,etc.... we all r MUMBAIKAR...... JAI HIND, JAI MAHARSTRA....

I have my birth place in mumbai, lived in lucknow and currently am studying in delhi. How can you insult your national language and humiliate your own culture by showing disespect to other cultures. Mr. Raj thackrey must understand their are bigger and better issues to be addressed whether those are for Maharashtra or largely India. It is high time, people of Maharashtra must understand these people are doing their pity politics and are no good, neither to the service of country and nor Maharashtra. If such thing continues..... no non-marathi 'll ever say in marathi 'AAMCHI MUMBAI'

i wish Mr. Raj Thakare had to say politely to all MLA's that they should take oath in Marathi as they will be representing the Marathi Junta in Maharashtra...rather than ordering everyone... the points MNS raises do have some thought...but the way they handle it is wrong...violence against WE INDIANS by WE INDIANS shudn't b entertained. Raj Thakare shud provide genuine solutions...rather than making chaos he shud show his expertise in problem solving. All the best for Mr. Raj Thakare

It is shameful to say the least. I donot think Abu Azmi is a good person. But MNS is making a national hero out of him. How can an India, a Hindustani be hit for taking oath in the national language in India 'Hindi'. I dare say, it is not the Marathi Manoos who is doing this. The Marathi Manoos is being cheated by MNS. Every Marathi manoos loves Hindi as much as he love Marathi. The Marathi manoos cannot separate himself from the rest of Hind-i-ustan. @Mumbaikar This is not fun. The language used in the post pisses me off infinitely. I am seriously reconsidering putting up posts on Mumbaikar if it tries to take up issues as serious as this in a manner as light as this.

Mr. Singh Rana and Mr. Indian... PLEASE... MSN does not have anything against HINDI.. go to these South Indian states and try speaking Hindi there and then tell us if we are Biased! I am an NRI Maharashtrain and I am proud of my country and all I want is that my State is respected for everything it is since its out 50th Anniversary year. Yes I voted for Mr. Raj because Shiv Sena forgot their main agenda.. Mumbai is a problem with immigrants from UP/Bihar and Bangladesh and maybe you have not seen the Slums.. Watch Slum Dog again. Not a single Marathi guy in there. We want to uplift the people.. its people like Abu Azmi and other SP leaders who get thousands of migrants from UP/Bihar to Mumbai just to build their Vote Bank. We didn't break any Law.. MNS made its protest clear. All other candidates took their oath in Marathi except 2+1 which other was in English. If you represent Maharashtra, at least respect its language or I would have appreciated if Abu Azmi said he cannot read Marathi rather than INSTIGATING the MNS Candidates who themselves have said sorry but hey.. why do we forget what ABU AZMI did.. who is PLAYING POLITICS here? ASK YOURSELF.

Omigod - mass hate mail - looks like 'Disgusted Indian' and Shrinath have been handed the same script to hand out. They're probably not literate enough to write their own thoughts, puppets that they are! Frankly - shame on 288 legislators who kowtowed to street hoodlums and hid their faces when bully-in-chief, Raj Thackeray issued his pathetic little note ordering them to speak in Marathi. I know nothing of Azmi, or why he found it neccesary to say those few simple lines in Hindi, but it would have saved tax payers a lot of money if these spineless people had done what they are supposed to do - turn threats over to the cops and demand action; demand that the Assembly recognize the nature of the threat before the incident took place, and; expel every MLA who acts unconstitutionally and illegally. What would our Founding Fathers say if they had witnessed this travesty? This is what they sacrificed their lives for? Stop wasting people's time!

Great show Raj...You are a Hero. These dogs need to be treated. I must say that you are kind to have let him go so easily. Please get these Gujus next. The marathi people have become aliens as a result of this foreign invasion from North Indians and Gujarathis. The scarcity of accommodation, education, health facilities are all attributable to theise ciizens fro other states. The Marathi son of the soil has been driven outside of Mumbai by these scavengers. Its time to get back.

A bunch of hooligans from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) go about beating up anybody from North India. Raj Thackeray even goes on to say "Maharashtrians cannot be silent spectators while Mumbai is flooded with unwanted migrants." Wtf is this supposed to mean? We are suckling cry babies when it comes to incidences like treatment meted out to Shilpa Shetty etc. But look at how we are treating each other. Sad!

Thackery thinks he owns Maharashtra. Me thinks he's either bunked his lecture on Constitution/Democracy or he's pure illitrate. For the last time, let people decide their own good/bad.
